The Royal Oak Offshore Alinghi Team Chronograph is one of the latest watches from Audemars Piguet. Made from carbon fiber, like Class America boats which use carbon fiber for lightness, the Alinghi uses a self-winding movement with a power reserve of up to 60 hours. Nautically inspired details include a red-rimmed six-hour counter at the 6 spot, the twenty-minute counter at 9 spot that has an open-worked hand shaped like a ship’s prow and the Alinghi logo that takes the place of the 3 spot.

I’m a real big fan of the Breitling brand. I’ve always loved their style and innovation. This time Breitling has done it again. They have produced a center minute chronograph combined with a rotating timer bezel and a slide rule in a 200 meter water resistant package. Talk about functional, it even has a little gear driving off the bezel which drives the slide rule. Reg. price around $4900.

This magnificent piece of work is more than easy on the eyes. The Tourbillon Mysterieux Haute Joaillerie by Montres DeWitt features a DW8001 mechanical, manual winding movement, manufactured in Vandoeuvres. DeWitt’s innovation in the Tourbillon movement is in its mysterious winding mechanism which actuates the wheels and gear-trains, known as “wofl-teeth.”
